Exhibit Opens October 1
Oct. 1 – 31, 2019

The Mountlake Terrace Arts Advisory Commission presents the Karen Jacobson Photography Exhibit for the month of October at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Avenue West.

A Seattle native, Karen Jacobson and her husband Jake have lived in Mountlake Terrace for 30 years. Karen has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in painting from the University of Washington, but explained that she has frittered away her working life in public service. She now specializes in photography.

“Recent travels in the United Kingdom show the effects of age on everything manmade,” Karen said. “Nothing lasts forever.” Karen tries to use photos to contrast order and entropy, and enjoys finding patterns amid chaos. She focuses on architecture, ruins, and natural processes interacting with man-made objects.

The Mountlake Terrace Arts Advisory Commission oversees the library exhibits as part of its mission to promote cultural events in the community. Each show is monthly at the Mountlake Terrace Library, Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays 1 to 5 p.m..
